What is the difference between "international studies" and "cultural anthropology"?
Q. I am trying to find out the difference between "international studies" major and "cultural anthropology" major. I want to know I am going to be studying the right thing when I attend college. I love different cultures, people, languages, and travels. My favorite classes were world history and world geography. I am not interested in foreign political relations as I've been seeing whenever I research "international studies". Can you help me clarify the difference? Thanks!

A. I disagree with the previous answer and somewhat with the first answer. It would be particularly hard to quantify how "wide ranging" either major would be vs. the other (make that most liberal arts majors, for that matter) because all programs differ, though most undergraduate programs of a particular major have similar requirements. If anything, an argument can be made that anthropology is more wide ranging... These fields differ in both their method of study and aims, among other things. Simply reading the wikipedia descriptions of each field should give you a better idea of what you're more interested in, as well as the differences and histories of both: As you've already found out from your own research, international studies… [cont.]

What's the difference between "nauseous" and "nauseated?"?
Q. I've been told that "nauseous" is often misused-- for example, "I feel nauseous" is incorrect and should be replaced with "I feel nauseated." How do I correctly use these two words?

A. Both have to do with nausea. nauseous means 'causing nausea' and nauseated means 'affected with nausea'...pretty much both mean about the same... Examples: to feel nauseous...a nauseous smell... We are nauseated by the sight of trivial personalities decomposing in the eternity of print.

What is the difference between the "friendzone" and opposite sex friends who start liking each other?
Q. I'm trying to figure the difference out. I know many guys dread the awful "friendzone" (where they stay in the girl's "friends only" list forever). However, I also noticed that in talking to many of my friends who are in a relationship or married that both were "just friends" for quite some time before they got involved romantically. I just want to know the difference between the friendzone and friendships that lead to serious romantic relationships.

A. the reason why some ppl in the friendzone end up going because they both thought of each other as potential couple in the beginning but just wanted to remain friends at the moment. if there was no attraction to begin with, then the girl just wants to be ur friend.
