How can I heal ripped muscles faster and how long does it take to heal?
Q. Ive been working out everyday, doing something for legs one day and abs the next and i keep switching it. But it takes a long time for my muscles to heal. Is there any way I could make them heal faster? Or not hurt them so bad so that i could get in shape faster?
Asked by Brittany <3 - Sat Jul 18 15:54:10 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Rest is incredibly important when you are trying to gain muscle. There are supplements that will assist in muscle recovery that can be purchased at a vitamin store. There should be at least one day per week that you do not do any exercise so that all muscles have rest. Continue to alternate days i.e. Arms, chest back every other day, and legs on the other days. Be sure to get at least 7.5 hours of sleep and to eat healthy meals containing proteins, fruits, and vegetables. Don't forget to REST!

How to heal a bad reaction to skin caused my retinol?
Q. I purchased an over the counter cleanser and moisturizer that contained retinol and I had an allergic reaction to it. It really dried out and irritated my face. It's kinda flaky right not it use to sting and was really red but that has gone down. I thought retinol was suppose to be good for your skin. (it was a very low dosage they were over the counter products). Anyways is there something I can do to heal up my skin or should I just let it heal on it's own? At this point a moisturizer stings my skin so i cannot use that

A. The only thing that *may* work right now is petroleum jelly (unscented). I wouldn't try anything else at this point. Nothing is going to heal it other than time. It takes about 2-4 weeks for new skin cells to reach the surface. Until then, petroleum jelly may help to minimize any burning or pain you may feel. Retinol is NOT good for your skin and should only be used under the advice of a dermatologist. Any skin care that burns or tingles is NOT good for your skin no matter what the sales person tells you. There is no "getting used to it" timeframe or anything of the sort. So when trying something new, try it first in a small area to see how your skin reacts... especially if you have sensitive skin. If you have skin issues, like… [cont.]

How can I use eccentric loading exercises to heal my knee?
Q. I have hurt my knee to the point that I couldnt easily climb stairs without aching. Now it has healed after some months and it only aches sometimes at random times. I know its still not healed 100% and read somewhere that eccentric loading helps heal tendonitis which is what I might have in a smaller degree. I do martial arts and want to help it heal so I can go back to them like before. Any ideas?

How do you clean and heal an infected belly button peircing?
Q. I got my belly button peirced sometime in May; it was supposed to be healed fully late June. It did heal fairly well to my knowledge until about July, where I accidently bought and put in a peircing two guages too large because I didn't realize the smaller the number, the bigger the actual rod. Ever since, it's been getting worse - pus, cracking, and bleeding a lot. Recently, it's starting to really hurt; if it touches anything it twinges. I'm really unsure of what to do with it, and I'd like not to lose it. It's my first peircing, and I love it.

A. Try to take it out and clean the ring with peroxide and clean the hole with peroxide every night. You may need to bandage it with a little bit of gauze to protect your clothing if it is bleeding too much.

A. Well, my dad is a doctor, and this is what he said: " In such a case it is possible to get infection, so the wound needs to be closed in order to prevent this. theoretically, the skin should start healing itself, but if this doesn't happen it should be covered with a band aid temporarily to prevent infection, alcohol also works great but i think that she has a different problem, it may be because of another medical problem such as diabetes, there are also other diseases out there that cause super slow healing, i would need to examine you, the best thing to do is go to your local doctor for diagnose...good luck!"

How do I heal the annoying red bump on my nose piercing?
Q. I've got my nose pierced last summer (around 7 months ago) and ever since then I've had this ugly red bumb right next the piercing. I've tried using hot wat mixed with sea salt to heal it but it doesn't seem to be working. No, I don't want to take the piercing out. Has anyone had this experience before, and does anyone know how to get rid of it?
Asked by are03it - Mon Jan 26 20:38:31 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I had a similar problem and my daughter did as well. What worked for me is hot compresses on my nose. After the compress, I cleaned the piercing with saline solution and peroxide. I did this for a few days and the bump finally began to disappear. I would also recommend not wearing make-up near your nose ring. It can cause irritation and swelling.

How long does it take for my sprained ankle to heal, and what should i do to make it heal faster?
Q. Yesterday I sprained my ankle in gymnastics and I suspect it is a grade 2 sprain. I use crutches at school , ice it, and elevate it. I am going to the doctor in a few days, but in the meanwhile what can i do to make it heal faster? And how long will it take to heal?
Asked by Leah - Wed Jan 20 15:43:18 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It would take around a month but you need to stay off it for a while or use crutches still you can walk on it without pain. It you use ur ankle too much it will take longer to heal. Lastly, when you sleep you need to elevate your foot. I had a sprained ankle in November. My ankle is still not completely healed where I can work my calves in the gym but I can walk

How can I make my cuts and bruises heal faster without products?
Q. I'm very active and clumsy, I have multiple bruises and a few cuts on my legs. I'm going to the hot springs this Friday and wearing a bikini, and I want them to heal before then. Any tips for healing without using any product?
Asked by Morgan - Wed Jun 17 01:31:20 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Ice the bruises when you first get them. Ice is effective at shrinking and reducing the bruise if applied in the first 48 hours. You do need some products if you want to heal the cuts quickly: neosporin (or another antibacterial ointment) and band-aids. Cuts heal fastest in a moist environment, which means keeping them covered. Apply the ointment and bandage the cuts. Wash them and reapply the ointment and rebandage daily. If the cuts go from 'moist' to 'wet' leave the bandage off for a few hours so they can dry a bit. Moist speeds healing, wet slows it down.

The Big Man was more of a psychopathic murderer...for example He would Kill people for working on the Sabbath, Ex 31 Kill people for being curious, 1 Sam 6 Kill helpful people, 2 Sam 6 Kill children ("I will slaughter their beloved children." ) Hosea 9 Kill pretty much every thing that gets in My way ("kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.''), 1 Sam 15 I encourage everyone to Read Your Bible!!! ...all of it. How can I get my navel piercing to heal faster?
Q. I had my belly button pierced almost 6 months ago, and I know they said it could take like a year to heal completely, but it seems like it never will. Just when I think it's better, it gets sore and crusty again. Any tips on how to speed the healing process besides the daily cleanings and salt water?
Asked by Mom Sparrow - Fri Jan 5 14:32:17 2007 - - 19 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I suggest you also take a multi vitamin to help your body assist itself in building and repairing cells in the area. Cleaning it daily and sea salt soaks are good, but you need to make sure you aren't playing with it too much, have not knocked the piercing around. I'm almost curious if this irritation is from over cleaning. I suggest to tone the cleaning down a bit, but still keep the area generally clean. I never had problems with my 6 navel piercings and the cases I know of where the piercing heals up and gets worse, there is usually a small infection or rejection is taking place. Plus, some people are just slower healers by nature, nothing you can do about that I wish you luck with your piercing.

A. i recently had bursitis in my elbow, i had it drain 2 times the second time cortizone was injected but it came back yet again and i had to have surgery. may i suggest you go to your regular physician and have hime drain it but make sure he injects the area with cortizone because i believe that if the first doctor at an urgent care facility did that for me it may have taken the first time and i could have avoided the surgery. I had the surgery on feb. 9th and am still having some discomfort from it. i have a nice 7 inch incision and its still bruised around my elbow. any way good luck with it.
