How long do broken little toes take to heal?
Q. Mine has been broken for a day and I've taped it to the second smallest toe.

A. You did the right thing. Unless it is smashed, taping it to the next one is the right thing. Normally it heals in 4 to 6 weeks. I have always recommended cushioning with a piece of cotton between the toes.

A. If your toenail is purplish and you notice its detaching then most likely it will fall off. It is not painful at all because it happens very gradually as you grow another toe nail. Its happened to me before and I experienced no pain at all. The pain you have right now is due to the broken toes. Once the nails change color thats when they will most likely fall off.

A. It depends upon your general health & age. Rest the foot as much as possible and wear therapy socks to improve circulation for faster healing. My daughters toes took about four weeks before she got the spints off.

A. Rest and a good diet. There really is no need for anything other than that. If your dog will tolerate it, an ice pack (or just cold in general) will help reduce swelling, which will in turn help healing.

A. Buy a toe splint and put ice in a towel and wrap your foot. try no to wear sandals because that makes it worse even though people say it helps. Also keep your foot propped up when you are laying down.

Will elevating my broken ankle help with my swollen toes?
Q. Two weeks remaining until my hard cast is removed from my broken ankle which I had surgery on. Well the other week I slipped and had to put pressure on that ankle when I'm really not supposed to. It prevented me from falling. Since then I've noticed my toes are swollen, is that necessarily a bad thing? I elevate my ankle/foot but not as much as I probably should. I've tried putting ice on my foot, I still have swelling. Will it go down once I start walking on it?

How do dancers break their toes so often?
Q. So many of you on here have broken toes, I just dabble in dance, I wasn't allowed to really take it casue my parents thought it was a sin. My dog is limping, not putting weight on paw, maybe his toe is broken?

I have heard that dogs and humans with broken toes require really no treatment from the vet, that it really repairs itself. I have bandaged the toe with the toe next to it and then wrapped it up and covered it in a sock. A. well it could be that he's pulled that nail almost out, or he could of stepped on some broken glass or even got a splinter in the pads try to soak his paw in warm water with a little if soap in it do this 3 or 4 x a day and if your worried about pain you can give him 1-2 buffered aspirin depending on his size call your vet to see how much exactly to give him just on the safe side.

A. Definatly go to the audition. Sing for them, and just tell them about your toes. Just be prepared that they may not cast you . Also, go have your foot checked out at the doc.

A. It is possible if you have stamina and pain tolerance, but I surely wouldn't. Rest the injury, and it will heal faster. On the contrary, overuse the injury and it will hurt for a LONG time. Cheers, Matt

Question about broken toes?
Q. Last year I broke one of my toes and we taped it and it was a hairline fracture. It healed up over time but now it doesnt bend. Does anyone know anyway to get it to bend. My broken foot was put in a fiberglass cast yesterday from a splint, but I still cant move my toes?

A. Hmmm. Hot that normal... but it is normal for 30-70 year olds Because they have slower heart rate. When you are young your heart rate is faster and therfore the blood gets down to your leg quicker so your toes can move. Also if this helps go to ASDA or wallmart buy some vitamins You need vitamin C to help heal it.
