A. you mean you're SORE from running? and I don't need summer school because I actually pass classes instead of failing. 3-4 advil is WAY too much. Switch to a couple Ibuprofen instead. Do warm ups before and after running. read the bottle

Q. What are the reasons for a high fever not responding to tylenol and advil? It's actually going a little up instead of down.

A. Your fever is probably being caused by an infection which will require prescribed antibiotics! Go to the doctor! NEVER try to treat a fever on your own!

How long will it take for the effects of 100 advil to kick in?
Q. My friend called me and told me that she took 100 advil. I'm wondering how long it would take for it to have an effect because she said that she feels totally normal right now and she just took it. Can she die? What do I do?
Asked by zaclovr1922 - Wed Jan 28 17:24:52 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You need to get off the PC and call 911 for your friend. Yes, she can die from this and it is very serious as it can shut her liver and kidneys down fast. This is a cry for help in some way telling you that she is suicidal and needs real help that now only the ER can give to her. Do this NOW or your friend could be dead within a couple of hours.

Do advil liquid gels interfere with the pill?
Q. I am on Alesse birth control and I was wondering if taking advil liquid gels for migranes or headaches would interfere with the pill and make it less effective. I've heard that it does but it doesn't say so in the pamphlet. Does anyone know for sure?
Asked by BillieT - Sat Dec 8 17:09:13 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If it is not listed in the pamphlet or on the bottle of advil then it does not cause problems and the idea that it does is just a myth. I just checked my bottle of advil and there is no mention of it interfereing with bc. watch out for some specifice antibiotics (ones for tuberculosis especially) and St john's wort herbal remedies.

How much advil do you need to take in order to pass out?
Q. I want to take advil until i pass out, how much will i need to take without dying?
Asked by Tristy - Thu Aug 20 19:56:31 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Passing out isn't a side effect of ibuprofen. It can cause stomach bleeding though, so maybe if you bleed enough you will pass out, but if you bleed that much, you may end up dying. That's if you can even hold that much down at one time, as you will probably throw much of it up from your stomach being so irritated. As the other respondent said, don't be so silly. (That's putting it nicely)

Is it safe to drink coffee after taking an Advil?
Q. I have a big headache, and I have to study for my upcoming test and need to stay up as much as I can. I need all the time I can get to study. Is it safe to take an Advil for my headache, and drink coffee?
Asked by femmelao714 - Sat Mar 28 15:19:59 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but a cup of coffee may chase away a headache. Researchers at Chicago's Diamond Headache clinic found that 200 mg of caffeine, about the amount in a large cup of coffee, provided the same degree of pain relief as 400 mg of ibuprofen (the active ingredient in over-the-counter pain relievers such as Advil, Nuprin and Motrin). Additionally, the caffeine provided faster relief -- about half an hour faster. The most effective treatment for pain relief was caffeine and ibuprofen. This combination gave relief that lasted about four hours longer than either treatment alone. Just DON'T do it on an empty stomach, 'cause you might get a stomach ache. : )

Asked by Dr. Phil with boobs - Thu Sep 4 21:36:01 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Take Tylenol PM, Advil is Ibuprofen which cause blood to thin and can cause ulcers, damage the heart and can cause bleeding disorder if used to much. In pregnancy is can cause detachment of the placenta, internal bleeding, anemia...There were like 20 things my Dr listed as to why not to take anything with Ibuprofen in it.

Is Advil bad to take when you have a fever?
Q. I woke up with a 101 fever today. I know that a fever is the body's way of killing off whatever is making you sick. Advil reduces the fever so I'm wondering if by taking it, it just prolongs the sickness.
Asked by Rod - Fri Mar 6 11:18:28 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'm struggling w/ the same question with my little one and i found this answer: "Since fever is part of the body's defense against bacteria and viruses, some researchers suggest that the body may fight infections more effectively when its temperature is elevated. (Bacteria and viruses prefer an environment that's around 98.6 degrees F, or 37 degrees C.) A fever also tells the body to make more white blood cells and antibodies to fight the infection." I also read that unless your fever is too uncomfortable or super-high, then sometimes it's better to let your body fight off the infection on its own. If you bring it back down the bacteria or virus can spread more!

A. Well, tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon, Advil helps with inflammation. Less inflammation = less pain. It can also be tough of the stomach, that's why its best to eat before taking it.

Can mild bloodthinners like advil or aspirin dissolve a blood clot?
Q. if you were in a place where a person couldnt get medical help, like an airplane, could you use advil or aspirin to dissolve a bloodclot?
Asked by blondie - Sun May 31 00:00:50 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First Advil dosn't dissolve clots at all. just wanted to get that out of the way. Not sure why that has not been address yet. Now technically asprin dosn't dissovle the clots either what it does is actually prevent clots from forming in the first place. It will definatly stop the clot from getting bigger and over time might make the clot go away, but thats a big might and would take to long for that effect to happen. A doctor is a must as they have have clot busting drugs thats sole function is to get rid of clots. Now in an emergency they say to take an asprin for heart attack or stroke, but thats mainly damage control and not a treatment. As previsouly noted the asprin should be crushed in emergencys. The reason is 99% of american… [cont.]

Does anything work besides Tylenol or Advil?
Q. Ok, so I got braces yesterday and my teeth REALLY hurt. I've taken Advil as often as I can over the past day and my teeth still hurt really bad. Are there any ways to make them feel better besides or in addition to pain reliever?

A. ibuprofen, also you can try to get some of that gel that people put on their teeth when they hurt.(orajel) or even ambesol. i think that should numb your mouth so that you dont feel any of the pain. also ask you orthodontist if there is anything that you or him/her can do for the pain.

A. You should not be taking 10 Advil in the first place and mixing medicine with alcohol is more dangerous and increases the effects of both drugs. I would advise not doing this as it could result in death.
